BA 10 Baby

 operates with battery with switch for ON and OFF,
2 baby batteries
  also as construction with cable length 10m, lose ends for connection with 12V (e.g. car battery)  


Mounting and operation: 
  • Push electrode into black pumphead, until it can be recognized from the sloped screws
    (don't push it up to the limit stop, because then the electrode cannot work or might be damaged).
  • Fix it with knurled screw, so that the apparatus is fixed well, BUT not to fix, because then the electrode might be crimped.
  • If possible secure it against loss in addition, e.g. by fixing a cord at the knurled screw (e.g. strong angler cord)
  • immerse it into water
  • switch on

By this sequence it is avoided that air bubbles are formed, by which the measurement might be delayed or manipulated.
 
Be careful at muddy/dirty water: the function might be influenced negatively by foreign substances in the pump wheel.
Take precautions, if necessary.
Don't let the pump work in dry state.
Clean from time to time the pump wheel
Pressure tight up to at least 5bar (>50m water depth). At battery version occasionally check switch cap for visible damages.
At appropriate use  it works reliably for years.
Remark concerning battery version: Check up before measuring, whether the pump has got a sufficient water flow rate.
False measurements might occure due to empty batteries.
We recommend to take always spare batteries with you, e.g. NiMh.
Change of battery at construction Ba 10 Baby:
Unscrew battery top 1, put in 2 baby cells (plus pole above), screw in well.
